  Hello from Fortaleza, Brazil!

The highlight of this ministry update is by far the spiritual fruit we have seen in the lives of those we serve!   While speaking at a conference in December with several hundred people, after Tim’s last message, 3 people prayed and surrendered their lives to Jesus as Lord and Savior AND over 20 dedicated their lives to full time missions!  The church that was hosting the conference will be doing the follow-up with these decisions, but Tim was so blessed to see God use him in such a powerful way…   3 new brothers/sisters in Christ AND so many willing to serve their King full time.    Amazing.

Here in our church plant, the year-end ministry activities seemed to never end.  We hosted the youth group Christmas dinner for 35 people at our home and the New Years’ service and dinner from 8pm-2am here at our home as well.  Both events were such a blessing and the most important aspect was the bonding and fellowship that happed in our newly formed church body.  Christmas day we also hosted a group from the orphanage in our home for lunch and at the beginning of January planned a special event with the orphanage kids as well.  Currently, we are working to train and equip a Brazilian couple to carry on this orphanage work while we take our next short furlough.

An exciting development is also that we officially have a seminary student and wife partnering with us as interns!  They are a sweet couple and so eager to learn, grow, and serve.  Tim will work with our colleagues to mentor him, and Andrea invest in her life as well.

The process of organization and legalization of this church continues.  Our first business meeting and step towards legal status will take place in February.  The membership interviews have already started, and we should have about 30 founding members; and our ministries are growing.  As the church grows, so do the ministry opportunities and needs.  On Saturday nights, Tim will be starting a discipleship class that is a study through the Bible in 40 lessons.

Relieved to be done with the semester, Tim finished and submitted grades for the two seminary classes he taught and is now preparing for two more seminary modules that He will teach this semester.  Both are directly related to evangelism and church planting.  Equipping and training Brazilian ministry leaders is essential and such a privilege.

On the family side of things, we had a few wonderful, amazing, precious weeks with all our children “home”.  Robert and Moriah spent what is most likely their last Christmas break here in Brazil.  We cherished every minute.  The whole family traveled to Bauru where Tim was the speaker for a thanksgiving service at the new building of our first church plant.  After 17 years of ministry in that location, it was an amazing experience to go back and see all that God did and continues to do through our lives and service.   And, just to keep things interesting, we will be moving rental houses again.  For financial reasons, we need to leave the home we are currently living in before our furlough months.  This will be the 5th move since 2016; so, we are a little weary of the process.

Thank you for partnering with us and being our anchor in the USA as we serve the King of Kings here in Fortaleza, Brazil!  To God be the glory, great things He has done,

Tim and Andrea Blazer
