June 2020. Home Assignment

Timothy Blazer on June 22, 2020

Greetings from the Blazers!

As we all slowly get back to some resemblance of normal, we have finally been able to enjoy Michigan with family and friends. It has been a joyful experience to finally attend services at our home church here in Grand Rapids (Blythefield Hills Baptist Church) and attend a few family gatherings and graduation open houses as well.

Tim just finished 6 weeks of physical therapy for his torn pcl and has begun the long journey towards healing; Robert graduated from Moody Bible Institute finishing his Senior year online; and the other three finished their school years as well.   Robert is working full time and will start a pastoral residency in Flushing, MI in September.  His previously planned 8-week trip to serve in Bogota, Colombia, continues on hold and will be taken as soon as he can.  Moriah is working full time and taking two master’s degree classes this summer (a type of dual enroll between her junior and senior year of college) as she works towards a graduate degree as well.  Julea is working full time and preparing to start college, get a driver’s license, and set up life here in the USA.  Tim and Andrea have worked on preparing a presentation for churches, printing new prayers cards, and confirming our travel schedule.

This weekend, we travel to Iowa for our first scheduled visit to a supporting church.  We are very eager to begin sharing with our support base all that God continues to do through our partnership in Brazil missions.  Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible!

During July, we will be in two more churches and then starting in August, we are scheduled every week through December.  Lord willing, we will return to Brazil in January and continue to plant churches and train Brazilian church planters and leaders for His honor and glory!

Working with our national team and missionary colleague, Tim keeps in close contact as the church plant is preparing to return to our rented facility for services and finishing up the legalization process as well.  He has preached online one Sunday and has regular meetings with our missionary partner and Brazilian intern.  Technology has allowed us to continue to mentor and disciple several even from afar.   In addition, Tim still holds the position of Team Leader for our region of missionaries and is helping with other tasks on the all-Brazil field team as the need arises.  Having worked through the legal side of establishing a new church three times now, recently he has been able to help and guide two other abwe missionary families with his knowledge of the legal requirements for church planting and government regulations in Brazil.

Please pray for us as we start a crazy travel schedule and need wisdom and flexibility as so many different regions/churches have different needs and restrictions.  We praise God that He has already been meeting our monthly support needs as we lost a supporting church and one family but also gained a new supporting family.  Please also pray for our health and stamina as we travel to churches, help our three older kids transitioning, and return to Brazil with just our youngest, Levi.  That will be hard on Mom and Dad and Levi as well!

Looking forward to reconnecting with many of you and so eager to thank you personally for all you have done on behalf of God’s work through our ministry in Brazil.

Blessings,

Tim and Andrea Blazer
